“Not Just for Profit” Business Design (continued)
I am looking forward to our workshop session with Alexander Osterwalder at Zeche Zollverein this saturday. I have just found a recent presentation from Alexander about “Business Models beyond Profit”. Great to see that he has the same thoughts that i had, when i read his book. He is looking for funding to write a social entrepreneurship version of the book Business Model Generation: A Handbook for Visionaries, Game Changers and Challengers. “We know that this would be of immense value and that it would have a huge audience. Organizations like the Skoll Foundation, Ashoka and others are likely to be interested, but we don’t have the contacts there…”. I am sure Hans can help him to get through to the right contacts in this field. Let´s see what happens when the two get to know each other on saturday.
“Not Just for Profit” Business Design
Today i have found on http://corporation2020.org/ “Designing for social purpose” – a rich article about alternative Not Just for Profit Business Designs (author: Marjorie Kelly, in: strategy+business issue 54, Spring 2009 / 24.02.2009)
I see this article as a great resource to start with the content production for this blog as it names and explains the different approaches to “Social Business Design”, as it is understood here. I will excerpt the key points and various examples in a second post. If you don´t want to wait, i recommend you to download the article straight away.
